Hurricane Ian Hits Florida #florida #usa Hurricane Ian is now making landfall in Florida. It is on the cusp of being a category 5 hurricane with sustained 155 mph winds. The storm surge has been reported to be 18 feet tall. Ian is now 24 miles wide and is the 5th strongest hurricane to ever make landfall in the US. This is the most serious Hurricane to hit Florida since Hurricane Michael in 2018. Michael was a category 5 hurricane.
